The beauty of handcrafted photography meets the fun of nft collectibles in this first of its kind collection: women and culture
WOMEN AND CULTURE is inspired by the fun and aesthetics of computer generated NFT collections, but takes a completely new approach where all characters and variations are 100% handmade. The collection consists of 15 unique base characters that each have around 10 variatians, made with unique attributes photographed on set. These are divided into three rarity categories: 1/1, 1/5 and 1/10. All images are individually numbered in the bottom right corner ensuring each image is completely unique. The entire collection consists of 1485 unique NFT’s that will be stored as ERC721A tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.
Michiel Romeyn has reached legendary status in The Netherlands as one of the creators of Jiskefet, a revolutionary Dutch comedy show from the 90’s.
Back then, Dutch public broadcasting granted him absolute freedom to make the most outlandish sketches he could imagine. But the media landscape has since changed, making the creative involvement of networks, funds and studio’s inevitable.
It wasn’t until Michiel Romeyn met award-winning director Max Porcelijn, that he would agree to do a comedy show again. Joined by their affinity for absurdism, the two thought up a series of sketches that would allow Michiel’s trademark improvisation and surreal sense of humor to shine again. The show got picked up by Amazon Prime under the condition that they would receive absolute creative freedom and Trecx was released in 2021 under critical acclaim.
NFTrecx is an artist collective that helps Michiel Romeyn create directly for his fans – both new and old.

Nft’s?
Any piece of art can be copied. And digital art can be copied infinitely. With ease. So what determines ownership when it comes to art? Driven by the emergence of NFT’s, this question is an integral part of this project.
Buying our NFT’s will give you ownership of a digital token containing a high-res digital photo. Feel free to print this photo and frame it on your wall. Or wear it on a T-shirt. You can use it however your like. Because no matter how much it is copied, printed or shared: Your digital token will forever proof you own the original:
It is 100% unique and stored on a blockchain. Making the ownership of your token (and your digital photo) transparant and verifiable by all. You can compare this token with the certificate-of-authenticity you receive with physical art: It is proof that your art is original and not a copy.
But unlike these physical certificates, your token is digital. And it is able to do more than authenticate your art: Your token is also a membership card to NFTrecx. And holding on to it grants you special privileges: It gives you exclusive acces to:

The mint
The mint is the moment our NFT’s are first introduced to the blockchain. The genesis of the project, so to say. And during this mint each of our NFT’s has the same price. But you might get lucky and score an ultra rare one.
Hold or trade
This introduces the element of trading to this art experience. An element that boosted the NFT technology to popularity. And inspired us to combine it with the authenticity of fine-art photography.

Rarity categories
Our NFT’s are divided into three rarity categories 1/10, 1/5 and 1/1. Each NFT is unique and individually numbered in the bottom right corner.
The three rarity categories are also recognised by their frame color: 1/1’s are Gold, 1/5’s are Red and 1/10’s are Blue. With the tenth one (“she’s a 10”) being bright Yellow.
